It provides exceptional control of tough-to-control pests in a variety of crops. This insecticide will be the answer for highbush blueberry and raspberry growers in the lower mainland of British Columbia that are managing spotted wing drosophila (SWD).

Danitol is a Group 3 pyrethroid insecticide that controls pests from several different families of insects. It is a contact product that was supported in Canada through the National Minor Use Program for its control of SWD in highbush blueberries and raspberries. Unlike other synthetic pyrethroids, Danitol does not flare up mites. It is also registered to control a variety of insects in bushberry, caneberry, cucurbits, fruiting vegetables, stone fruit, pome fruit, succulent peas and tree nuts.

“Danitol is a great addition to the Nufarm blueberry portfolio. It complements the other products including Chateau® and Goal® 2XL herbicides and Quash® SC fungicide,” says Alicia Sebastian, Horticulture Sales Specialist for Nufarm Canada.

Highbush blueberry and raspberry growers should apply Danitol when the first pest activity is observed. Specifically, for SWD it is designed to control the female before she lays her eggs.

There is good supply of Danitol for the 2021 growing season.
